Are you looking for a challenge?
Do you want to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks? The aim of this walking challenge in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales is to climb Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, some 24 miles, in 12 hours or less. Just incase you fancy running, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Record is shy of 2hrs 30mins!
Are you looking to enter an organised or charity Yorkshire 3 Peaks in 2012 or 2013?
Organised events are available for individual walkers, teams of up to 4 walkers, or teams of up to 6 with a mountain guide from £25 each (no fundraising requirement) so you may raise funds for any charity or good cause of your choice - or none at all. Various dates as listed above.
Organise your own? The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge Route.
This circular route starts and ends at Horton In Ribblesdale, near Settle, and the route is usualy attempted in an anti-clockwise direction making the climbing order Pen-Y-Ghent (691 metres), Whernside (728 metres), and finaly Ingleborough (723 metres). The route is not waymarked, and some sections involve crossing a deep and boggy moss. However, navigation is not hugely difficult.

This challenge is often used as a training event for groups wishing to attempt the National Three Peaks Challenge, and is a very popular fundraising charity challenge too. Join our 3 Peaks Facebook Group.!
You are never very far from a road or civilisation, and although the normal safety precautions when walking in the hills must be adhered to, this challenge is relatively safe for people new to walking and hiking. Please see our kit list for details...
